Crohn's Disease Relief Shopping Links
Here are some products that may help you get some relief. Please check with your doctor before taking any supplements or making any big changes to diet and exercise. I am just a regular person with Crohn's not a health professional. I do make a small referral fee when blog readers shop AmericaRx through my links. This helps me make a little extra money for my family. See my disclosure page and My Crohn's disease story for more details. Thanks, Marianne
Although I put together this list with Crohn's disease sufferers in mind I think it would also work for people with both types of IBS, Crohn's as well as Ulcerative Colitis. Really, just about anyone.
These links take you to my trusted partner AmericaRx.com.
My gastroenterologist recommends that I take probiotic acidophilus. The Pearls are nice because they do not require refrigeration. If I keep my acidophilus in the fridge, I forget to take it. I have to keep it with my medications and take it along with my morning meds. I personally take Nature's Way, Primadophilus Reuteri pearls, but this is the brand that AmericaRx sells so this is what I am linking. You can get Primadophilus Reuteri at Drugstore.com. I tried to get a affiliate program with Drugstore.com but they said I did not have enough site traffic yet so I will try again later. From what I understand Nature's Way brand Primadophilus Reuteri is the brand that was tested in a case study on Crohn's disease.
Ez Dose Pill Timer
I don't have this but it looks really cool for if you forget to take your pills. If you take the crohns disease medicine afasacal, pentasa, or colazal (like I do) you have to take 3 pills 3 times a day and it can be hard to remember.
I use the EZ Dose plastic baggies for my pill carrier. They are a great brand. I can't take my pills first thing when I wake up, I have to get up and going first, so I put them in my pocket. This is better than wrapping them in a tissue, like I was doing.
Sunbeam Sports Heat Therapy Wrap Electronic Heating Pad
A heating pad can really help with the pain associated with crohn's. In my opinion abdominal pain can be the worst of all the crohns disease symptoms. I use a Sunbean Slumberpad which you can actually sleep on and stays on all night. The only place I saw where you could buy that one online was QVC.com. Jin got mine at our local Walgreens. It really helps when the pain is just really bad. this one looks really nice also.
Migrelief B2 plus Feverfew for Migraines
Ok, this is not technically a Crohn's thing, but I get migraines and Crohn's flares at the same time so I am putting it in the list. My neurologist is the one who told me about this. They have done scientific studies that show that taking vitimin B2 (riboflavin) every day lessened the frequency of migraines for a significant number of people. Its worth a try. Makes your pee really yellow, by the way - don't freak out. Also, it can take up to 6 weeks for the effect to start so keep going with it for awhile. The Migrelief also has some other herbal additions like feverfew, so if you want just get regular B2 vitamin supplements and take 4 a day. I personally just take 2 a day.
Get a case of Cottonelle Wipes and avoid having to buy them at the store.
Or nice small travel size Charmin Wipes
Florastor - beneficial probiotic yeast supplement
My cousin Helene says this stuff works for her so I am adding it to the list in case it helps anyone. I also have heard good things about Bee Propolis as a supplement. I stay away from that due to allergies but I have heard of a guy who swears by it.
Tylenol Extra Strength Rapid Release Gels
