Todays Entry in the Series

Here is today's photographic entry in the series "Really common animals you see all over the place  in Georgia."  Folks, there is no extra charge for these fantastic photos, they come with the price of admission to this fine blog.   How do I do it?  It takes a combination of carrying a little camera around with me, and being just a little bit nutty.  Some day perhaps I will snap a blue heron, and then who will be laughing, I ask?

Past entries in the series include:  some sort of bird eating a berry, bluejay, robin, and yellow butterfly.  Hey - if you are looking for latin scientific names, I am not your girl.  I do the best I can with limited resources and knowledge.  "Its better than nothing" is my new motto for beating the paralysis of perfectionism.

Grey Squirrel - this guy really wanted some crumbs from my lunch.

Photo Post

Here is a picture of my beautiful annual flowers I planted in my planter in front of my house.  Ahh... how gorgeous and relaxing.

Work is for the Birds

Today I would like to share some pictures I took at my workplace.   The first little bird, I have forgotten the name of.  Its very common in Georgia, however, as I see them all over the place.  This one lives in the bushes right next to where I park my car and yesterday I snagged him eating a berry, which I think is kind of cute.

The second bird is a big fat goose.  We have a little pond next to our office park and the Geese like to stop here as they are migrating.  Some of them hang out here for their migration.  They are actually really annoying and we all have evil intent towards the geese because they leave goose gack on the walkways.  LOL.

But none-the-less, I felt the need to take a picture of Mr. Goose and got hissed at for it.

Straight Out of the Camera - The Eclipse

The Moon is coming back!  This photo was taken leaning on the back of my mini-van - no tripod or anything.  Wow.  This Nikon D70 is really something.  50 MM 1.8 lens.

Acording to Space.com what we see here is

The planet Saturn and the bright star Regulus will form a broad triangle with the moon's ruddy disk, according to Joe Rao, SPACE.com's Skywatching Columnist.

I am really proud of this shot.  :-)  I am usually a terrible photographer so this is so cool to me.

Lunar Eclipse

I captured at least one shot of the eclipse.  It was really cool to watch here in Georgia the weather was perfect - just a little bit of clouds to give a spooky effect.

A really special experience.   I let the kids stay up and we are checking it every few minutes.
