A New Spin on Old Fashioned Radio Drama

Normally I blog about my love of all things Sci Fi on my second blog "Sci Fi Jungle"  However, I have come across a podcast/audio drama so revolutionary that I really want to share it with you here.  I am getting some Social Spark love out of this post as well, but believe me, this story is really cool.  The story is called the Leviathan Chronicles and its like a cross between an old fashioned radio drama and a thoroughly modern podcast format.  Created by writer/producer Christof Laputka, the story is told in an episodic format purely in Audio, although there is a beautifully designed website to go along with the story. The site is very bandwidth intensive with lots of cool sound effects.  You can listed online or download the episodes to your mp3 or iPod device as a podcast to listen on the go.

The first episode "Evil Undertow" immediately sucks the listener into the underwater action as it takes place on a submarine.  Mysterious events follow that require the investigation skills of the CIA and others.  The acting seems decent and the production value is good.  There are plenty of cool sound effects to get you into the mood while you are listening.

For more information check out the site here - Leviathan Chronicles.

Moose Murders rears its Ugly Antlers Yet Again

As reported in the New York Times, Broadway's most infamous flop will be again staged on the Great White Way.  See the worst play ever staged on Broadway at Sardi's in NY Aug. 9.  Coming off two highly praised run throughs,  most recently at L & M bowling lanes in Rochester, N.Y., the latest incarnation of the play is an irreverent conceputual artwork directed by John Borek.  Mr Borek, as the Times would say, is a conceptual artist who hasn't quit his day job as an aide to a Rochester city councilman.

The play features the beautiful and talented artist Krysia Mynick, a personal friend of mine.  As well as a mannequin, and a blow up Moose head.  How can you go wrong?
