Happy Reunion PHSers

This weekend I am missing my 20 year HS reunion.  I wish everyone the best.  Nowadays being a nerd is more cool than it was back then, eh?

Anyway - here's my little update in a nutshell since high shool.  I live in Atlanta, been married 10 years in October.  I have two small boys - 1 1/2 and 3 years old.  I am an email/network administrator and working mom.

Sprout - Please bring back Melanie's Good Night Show

 

Dear PBS Sprout team, Please bring back  Melanie Martinez from Melanie's Good Night Show. I understand why you are displeased with the video she did, but frankly my kids won't see that and don't care about it. Why would preschoolers be watching web comedy videos of a grown up nature? They just like her show. It helps me get them to sleep. Please bring her back. You don't try to censor George Carlin who narrates Thomas the Tank Engine or Greg Proops the Improv comic who does the voice of Bob the Builder! Are you being sexist here? Marianne

Three years ago I was having my first baby!  Happy Birthday Benjamin. 

Today Ben is having a little party at school (daycare) and we made goody bags for his friends.  On Saturday we will have cake and some friends over and give out presents.

Back from the Bat Mitzvah

We're back from our whirlwind trip ty my neice's Bat Mitzvah.  I am so proud of her!  Melanie did a wonderful job with her Torah portion and her commentary was wonderful!  What a brave, honest, and sweet youg woman she is.

Here are a few pictures I took during the weekend.  We have more on the 0ther camera that Jin was carrying, that I haven't even looked at yet.

What I am currently working on

I made my first digital scrapbooking kit "The Mod Kit" last summer.  It took forever but eventually I finished it and shared it as as freebie on Scrapbook-Bytes.com.  Its not up there anymore since they re-organized their site, so I may post it here as a freebie.  I also have made a few quick pages that I may post as well.

The next kit I am working on (a year later!) is called Peaceful Flower.  Here is a color swatch of the color pallete I am working with.  Its very slow going for me, as I am learning how to work with Photoshop, and also re-awekening my creativity.  It seems like since I had kids so much of my personal energy has been focused on them that I have to re-learn how to access the creative side of my brain.

New Weblog

Welcome to my new weblog.  I have decided to try Typepad as a tool.  I am looking for something that is easy to use, and will give me the flexibility to make a nice looking site.  My goal is to post pictures of my (if I do say so myself) darling kids for my family, share my digital scrapbook pages, and also post some freebie digital scrapbooking elements and kits.

Here is the latest layout I have made.  The papers and elements are from a free kit "Barcelona Weekend" by Rikki, available at http://rikkid.typepad.com/rikkiscraps/.  She is one of my favorite designers and she is very generous with free kits.  Her style suits mine.  I am a fan.  LOL.
