Don't Pout

Here's a little advance notice of the boys' Valentine's for this year.  I just put an order in at Walgreens Photo for 60 of these in 4x6.  I am going to tape a piece of Laffy Taffy on there, write the classmates' names on in Sharpie marker, and call it a day.

Silly, yes, but at least I can say I made them myself.

Introducing - Sci Fi Jungle

I've been cheating on you.  I have another weblog on the side.  Its been weighing heavily on my mind, and rather than try to keep it a secret, I have decided to let the world know about:

Sci Fi Jungle

The Sci Fi Jungle is a group initiative where we will be celebrating all things Science Fiction, with reviews, previews, information, and commentary.  We also feature the wonderful art of James A. Bowen available through the store at Cafe Press.  I am working on securing another artist or two to the consortium, so please send me some good vibes on that.

Kim Hill has a new Free Sampler up at cgessentials.com.   She put up a new shopping cart system at the store over the weekend and it looks FANTASTIC.  The free sampler coordinates with her Be Mine Valentine Kit but I think those frames are useful for so much more than just valentines layouts.  And the stitching looks really cool too.

I voted

I voted in Georgia's Super Tuesday Primary election today.  My poling place is the frozen foods section of my local Kroger.  No joke.  Most people get to vote at a school, or church, well... my polling place is the break room of the Kroger on Old Alabama Road.  Just behind the Frozen Foods.  It's kind of cold back there, and stark.  And the election official ladies working the desk were complaining that they were cold.

Today's Photo Post

Jin caught this morning's birdie for your viewing pleasure.  We have some tall pine trees in the back of our house.  They are in a swath of land reserved for drainage and owned by the housing association.  Whenever there is a storm I wonder if these old spindly pines are going to fall on my house.  So far so good.  But the birds love them, and since our living room is up 3 levels in the tree tops we can get some good looks at the birds.  Some day I will snap one of the big Woodpecker that likes to go in the top of my chimney.  Don't ask.
