Ok, check out this totally cool web show starring Amy Poehler, that is aimed at young girls. The episode I watched was sponsored by Barbie, and started with one of their ads. Then it went into a show about a 10 year old who does praise dancing and also plays steel drum in a steel pan drum band.
The theme song of the show says "Smart Girls Have More Fun" and the name of the show is "Smart Girls at the Party." It's a very low key show, and really cute. The second episode I have playing in the background features girl band "Care Bears On Fire." How can you not love a band called Care Bears on Fire?
You can grab the widget yourself (get your own widget here) and even put it on MySpace or Facebook. I think there's a lack of genuine cool stuff for girls so this is pretty good. They let the young ladies speak for themselves instead of making the show all about the adults who are making it.
Speaking of Barbies... I am getting an anime style Pullip doll. They are Korean/Japanese dolls really marketed towards adults. People dress up their dolls and take pictures and stuff, like they do with BJD - ball jointed dolls. Since all I have is boys boys boys, the doll is a fun little item for me to get in touch with my feminine side.
