I follow a lot of motivational speakers on Twitter. To tell you the truth, 140 characters is about all the motivation I can handle at once time. I once watched Tony Robbins for 10 minutes or so and I found it exhausting. Do we really have to be that freaking pumped out about improving ourselves? Whatever happened to taking a few little steps here and there and being happy on the journey?
So let me take a moment to list some things I am happy about right now. Today. At this moment.
1. My health is ok. For most people maybe this wouldn't be such a big deal, but with Crohn's I feel like every day I can work and take care of my family while avoiding social security disability, is a win.
2. Speaking of family: My family is awesome. My kids are sweet, my husband is thoughtful and caring, and my parents are THE BEST IN THE UNIVERSE.
3, There's even more family to be happy about. How about those brothers and sisters in laws? We recently got back in contact with my brother in law that I haven't talked to in a while and that is great.
4. My house. I have a house - it keeps the rain off my head, gives me and the family some security. I have some equity in it and our neighborhood is thriving. The kids have friends on the street they play with after school and I now know it was a good decision to pick the house on the cul de sac.
5. My job! Hey - I got one and its good! And best of all - today is payday. Yay.
