I Won a Kindle 3!

When I see those retweet contests on Twitter, I tend to retweet.  It finally paid off!  I was reading the Crave Blog that is on CNET.com and they had a twitter contest.  It said follow @crave and then send this particular tweet to win a Kindle3.  Ok, I did.

After I had to send in a signed notarized statement that I am who I say I am and don't work for any of the related companies, I finally got my little package in the mail today.

I already have a Kindle 2 which I LOVE, so I spent a few minutes resetting that back to factory settings and that is now hubby's new Kindle.  So we both got something out of the deal.  They new one is lighter, and a bit smaller.  (Although the screen size is the same)  I need to order a case for it - Amazon is making their own leather cases one with a built it light and one without.  I think I will get the one with the light and see if that is handy.  (I have been known to read on my BlackBerry in the middle of the night to keep from waking up hubster.

I am so pleased.  Now, does anyone else want to give me stuff - maybe a Canon camera or a Flip Video Recorder?  Ok, just kidding.

 

3 Day Weekend

Yay for having a 3 day weekend.  On Monday we are even sending the kids on a field trip with their afterschool program to a local Pumpkin patch so hubster and I will have a little grown up time.  Can you beleive that the 20th is our 14th anniversarry?

14 years and he still takes off his socks next to his desk every day and makes a rat pile of dirty socks.  You know what - I have a pretty strong feeling that this is not going to change anytime soon.  At least I got him to put the seat down and teach the boys to do the same.  Sometimes you have to appreciate the little things.  Like how he will randomly take my car and fill it up with gas and keep things like the garage door opener working.

Sunday Chit Chat

I woke up with a headache today.  Forget weight loss pills that work, I want a migraine pill that works!

And why is it that when my head hurts that when the boys decide to run around the house screaming and yelling like hooligans?  They drive me crazy!  But to be fair, they have been very good kids today - taking the dog for a walk, cleaning up after themselves, and entertaining themselves.  (Loudly)

Today I have been thinking about cool stuff you can buy on the Internet.  I bought white japanese hulless popcorn - and found popcorn I can eat.  (From starvingfarmerpopcorn.net if you are interested.) I even found a place where you can order a box of Macoun apples at honeycrispapples.org. (These are the best apples, an Upstate NY favorite that is only available for a short time)
