Today I have a main goal of relaxing with a secondary goal of doing laundry.  After the nice halthy walk we took yesterday today I have a headache and am tired.  Go figure.

I did get a little knitting done on my scarf I am making from Classic Elite Magnolia yarn.  It is so pretty and soft - the yarn is a mixture of 30% silk and 70% merino wool.  The silk gives it a pretty shine and its so soft you wouldn't even think its wool.

I have my laptop upstairs and may check back in later.  If not, have a great day and good luck for the week.  (I sure need good luck!)

Wood Wick - Candle that Crackles

I wanted to buy the Hubster something small and nice for his birthday, since his big present was an IOU for a computer that we are saving up for, so I got him once of these Wood Wick candles.

The candle is supposed to crackle like a wood fire.  I got the Redwood scent, and it is very nice, especially nice for a guy as it is a woodsy scent.  it is filling the room nicely but not annoyingly strong.  It crackles very quietly, not annoying at all.  I am thinking that if you got a few of these and put them in the fireplace it would be a nice substitute for a wood fire.  These are soy candles, which I understand are supposed to be good for not smoking.

 

 

Took the Kids and Dog to the Greenway

Its a beautiful day today - over 70 degrees so far, so we decided to take the kids, bikes, and dog to the Greenway.  The Alpharetta Greenway is a linear park wher ethey have built a paved trail that goes along Foe Killer Creek.  (Great name for a creek, right)

Here's a picture of little guy in his racing helmet drinking some gatorade.   It;s fnny that it is so funny and beautiful (Ray Bans weather) after we had such snow and ice 2 weeks ago.

 

Hubster bought the kids each a dry erase board, set of color markers, and an eraser. They have spent about 3 hours drawing animals. :-)

Hanging In There

After my wonk on the head yesterday I do not exactly feel quite normal.  But I am getting there.   I want to enjoy my Sunday with some playoff football, knitting my sock, and cleaning up the house.

Next week is shaping up to be a busy one at the office so I need to get prepared today for the week.  I like to have all the clothes for the family washes and laid out for each day to make the mornings as calm as possible.

Jin bought a nice side table at Target.  It's Mission style, not rustic furniture at all, quite nice.  So we are slowly doing a little redecorating. 

Ow! I tripped over my (sleepy) 6 year old while walking from the car into the house. I went flying and my head hit the garage door. Now I have a goose egg, a weird line down my forehead, and I feel quite funny. Hubster is keeping an eye on me so don't worry.

Ow.

To the Jumpy House!

We're about to go take the kids to Monkey Joes, the place with all the inflatable slides, and bouncy houses.  They've been stuck inside so much this week, because of the snow and ice, they really need to get all that energy out.

I will bring the sock I am knitting, Jin will be reading his Kindle.  And the jumpies and such good exercise with no diet pills side effects!  Just kidding, kids don't need diet pills, just lots of play and excercise.

 

Snow Bound in ATL: Day 4

I finally made it in to work today but the kids school is cancelled for the entire week.  Then Monday is MLK day.  Since they  just got back from winter break last Wed-Fri they basically have been out of school for about a month at this point.  Talk about getting out of routine!

The roads were bad this morning - Haynes Bridge road was like an ice rink at one point.  It turns out my anti-lock breaks do work.  They were out with salt/grit trucks by the time I was on the way home but they didn't actually plow anything - just threw dirty salt on it. 

One good thing is that it turns out that not being able to drive anywhere will help you save money and go through the food in your pantry, fridge, and freezer.  We've cooked all week with the exception of today Jin took the kids out for brunch at our local brunch spot as the roads are starting to clear up and businesses are opening for business.  And eating home cooked food is a good thing - maybe I can lose a couple pounds I gained over the holidays.  Since I don't think there is any such thing as weight loss pills that really work, I will stick to home cooking and playing on our new XBox Kinect dance game.
