I have made a new page on Squidoo called "How to Knit a Baby Blanket." Way back a few years ago when I decided to try to make extra money on the net, I started my first Squidoo page. At first, not much happened, but then my page on knitting patterns you can make with only squares and rectangles got a lot of traffic from the knitting site Ravelry, and I started to make a few dollars a month in ad revenue.
Then Squidoo has some problems with the big search engine starting with a G and traffic went down for a while. After the good Squidoo pages got reindexed in the search engine I noticed I was gettign a lot more traffic to my popular pages and I started getting bigger and bigger monthly paypal paymens from Squidoo. (They share their ad revenue with their content creators, so its a great place to start a free page that could actually make you money.)
In honor of hitting the $100 dollar mark in Squidoo payments (ok, yes, this is not a get rich quick scheme, just a side hobby for a few extra dollars) I decided to make a new lens.
This one is about 5 free and easy knitted baby blanket patterns. I have included a great video on how to make the knit stictch and feature five great free patterns that are all easy. I hope this page will be helpful for new knitters who are expecting, as well as those grandmothers out there who love to make a heirloom gift for a new baby.
