Cumming Fair

We had some fun a few weekends ago at the Cumming Fair.  One of the coolest parts was the display of old steam trains.  A bunch of the trains at the fairgrouns are Case steam trains so of course we had to take some pictures.  Fun!

My trip to Las Vegas got cancelled.  And I have caught a couple of colds in a row so life is a little bit crazy right now.  It's one of these months where you just have to hang in there and hope for the best. So between trying to find the best barcode scanner and trying to get our automobile situation resolved, I feel like I don't have enough time to rest and catch my strength back up.

I think what I am going to do it take two of the days I have scheduled off as "staycation" days and get some rest and a few things done.

I'm Going to Las Vegas!

My friend Melissa is going to Las Vegas for a conference in November and invited me to go along.  Her conference is during the day and then we will be able to do some fun stuff in the evenings.   I get a free hotel room (at the Cosmopolitan).

Now that I have an iPhone I can download Vacation Apps.  I found an iPhone app for Las Vegas info that looks cool called Vegas Mate that looks like it might be helpful.  These days you can do eveything on your mobile phone, from booking a hotel, booking flights, checking into flights, to finding things to do in your travel destination.  Smartphones make everything so much easier!

I am looking forward to this trip.  I haven't been on a girls weekend in a long time.  I have the best husband in the world!  I told him about the trip and asked him what he thought.  He said I should go.  What a sweetie. 

I am going to set aside a small amount of money for two things:  a spa massage, and some blackjack.  I don't expect to win anything, but it can be fun to play for awhile and see how long you can make your pre-decided budget last.  I looked up the spa at the Cosmopolitan hotel and they have some awesome sounding massages and services.  Since I am going to have the day to myself I am definately going to take advantage of that time.  Imagine the peace and quiet!
